When the world shut down in 2020, I, like everyone else, had no choice but to dive into a slurry of random hobbies—including, but not limited to, baking (sourdough and cakes, to be exact), guitar, Super Smash Bros, Tiger King, and knitting. I also went down a makeup rabbit hole—which is where I met Colourpop.

If you haven't heard of Colourpop before, it's only the cutest vegan and cruelty-free brand on the market. As if that weren't enough to get you hooked, the products are incredibly affordable while maintaining amazing quality and color payoff.

As a young adult who grew up in a pretty conservative household, I had precisely two makeup palettes that I had had since Junior High. I have seen beauty influencers like James Charles and NikkieTutorials with their insane collection of cosmetics products. I decided that maybe it was time to invest in my appearance. What commenced was hundreds of dollars shelled over to my beloved Colourpop, leaving me with a relatively expansive collection of products in a mere matter of months (It doesn't help that they run frequent sales and almost always have an adorable drop in the pipeline).

6 Of My Favorite Colourpop Eyeshadow Palettes

While Colourpop has an immense range of products, their 9-pan eyeshadow palettes are a hands-down favorite. For only $14, you can get a beautifully cohesive palette that enables you to create looks in any style. Of all the palettes I've purchased from Colourpop since 2020, these are my all-time favorites.

A Flair For Drama: The Wild Child Palette

The Wild Child palette is the first one that came to mind when I thought of my favorites. She has an incredible range of deep browns suitable for any skin tone. The shadow Ground Crew is the perfect terracotta shade and can be worn in the crease for deeper looks or on the lid if you're craving something warmer. I also love Grasslands for a quick smokey eye and the showstopping glittery copper shade, Fierce.

For Soft Glam Goddesses: The Making Mauves Palette

The range in the Making Mauves palette is to die for—seriously, this one is so good! The top row features a range of lighter shades, suitable for airy spring looks or as a starting base for other shadows. The rest of the palette is perfectly balanced with a mix of shimmer, glitter, and depth to take your look from simple to sultry. Keep an eye out for the foiled shade Mauve On Top—she is SO pigmented and insanely sparkly.

Cute As a Peach: The Baby Got Peach Palette

Baby Got Peach is a cult classic—and for good reason, too. While some complain the palette doesn't have enough shade range, I find it the perfect combo for spring and summer days when I'm going for something more youthful and straightforward. And while I'm not usually a fan of Colourpop's pressed glitter formula, the shade Hungry Ghost is irresistible.

Fresh and Sweet: The Mint To Be Palette

If you're more of a neutral girlie like me, hear me out—the shades in Mint To Be are perfect if you've wanted to branch out in an approachable way. This palette has a deliciously minty blend of pastels, olives, and blue greens which are surprisingly flattering for any color season. If you're nervous, start with an all-over shimmer shade such as Mintea or Mojito Mami, using Chill Factor or Ice Cold as an eyeliner. You're welcome!

Beautifully Bold: The Blue Moon Palette

Right now, you're probably saying, "Wait, I thought you said you were more of a neutral girl?" And I am! But I would be doing you a disservice if I didn't mention the Blue Moon palette. She is drama, she is pigment, she is everything!!! This monochromatic dreamboat has every shade of blue you could ever need, whether you're going for ice princess, 80s, or editorial. Trust me—you need it.

For the Sexy and Sultry: It's My Pleasure Palette

While the other palettes on this list tend to stay in their own color story, It's My Pleasure is a little chaotic and messy…which is what I love about her. You're getting some whimsical pastels, purple shimmers both warm and cool, and even a few nods to brown in there. The star of the show for me, though, is the rosy silvery shade called Mr. Sandman. I literally could not love her more.

You Get the Colourpop Craze Now, Right?

It's easy to see why Colourpop is an award-winning brand with an incredibly loyal fan base. Beyond their signature 9-pan palettes, Colourpop also has a variety of fantastic face, lip, and skincare products that pair beautifully with their eyeshadow formulas. Let me know what you think once you get your hands on your first Colourpop order! I'd love to hear your thoughts.
